Welcome to

A Watercolour Universe

A place for creativity, transformation, and the ways people begin again.

New DesireLand is where ideas and new beginnings meet. I believe every person's world is vast, complex, and challenging, yet also deeply worthwhile. Life's most precious gifts can sometimes be held in the palm of a hand, found in the twinkling of an eye, or hidden in a quiet corner of the soul.

I am Nara Wilson, a writer and lifelong student of human nature. Born in Uzbekistan and now living in Aotearoa New Zealand, I write historical and literary fiction, memoir, psychological essays, and plays. I also enjoy writing haiku, a traditional form of short Japanese poetry.

I hold degrees in Psychology and Chemical Engineering and graduated with Merit from the New Zealand Institute of Business Studies in Mystery & Thriller Writing. My nonfiction book is published on Amazon, and my work has appeared in literary magazines and anthologies.

Why New DesireLand

New DesireLand began with a child’s playful name for New Zealand: “Land of New Desires.” I kept it because it felt true. Sometimes life really does begin again.

Discover the story behind the name, explore the Chronicle of New DesireLand, browse the stories, or learn a little more about the person behind this small corner of the world.
